Thank you so much M.K.home for the nomination. I’m honored and humbled to be part of it. Visit their blog for some great content.

I was also nominated by Niraj who writes about his mental health journey and I love learning so much from him.

Give a summary of how your blog started

I was going through a really rough time then a person suggested that I try to write it down. Then I watched the Bold Type and I loved how the character Jane wrote really inspiring pieces that touched lives and I decided to the same.

Give two pieces of advice for any new bloggers

Be consistent– Blogging can get daunting and tiresome but keep showing up.

Stay true to your story– Your story is precious no matter what someone else tells you.

Don’t you have like a hundred of those?

    1. jackie says:

It has never been about the number but about appreciating other blogs. These awards helped me when I was going through a phase when I was getting a lot of hate in my blog and I felt incompetent as a blogger. Knowing that there was someone who thought that my work was dope sorta helped the situation. I am still struggling and if you look at my blog, you will see that recently I haven’t done a prose, just poems and the awards.

Honey, it was meant to be a light joke, sorry if I failed at that. No, I totally understand; when you get nominated, someone has thought about you and appreciated your blog obviously. I hope you are getting your feet back on, and DO NOT let people bring you down, you alone has power over everything you, OK? Sorry, and no more jokes, I promise.

🤣🤣🤣The trouble with texts is that it’s so easy to miss the point. We see things as we are. When I saw the comment I was right after reading the mean comment below. So I really missed it.💖💖 I will get back on my feet. I just never realized how much people can be on the internet sometimes. I thought hate only goes to celebrities. I guess that’s not true.

You are right, and it’s happened to all of us. Yes, internet can be dangerous, but don’t lose focus, put your energy in what matters, and as hard as it is, try to shut out everything else.
            Good luck to you.

  2. Blogging is not a popularity contest.

    1. jackie says:

I never said it was. I am guessing you are saying this because of the awards 🤣🤣. Well, first the awards are not about popularity but about uplifting other bloggers. Appreciating each other’s work. I don’t know where you got the popularity contest from. Two, I have been really struggling with my confidence as blogger because of people like you who just come in and say stuff out of context and I began to wonder if I was really doing the right thing in my blog and the awards reminded that there are people who enjoy my content and every time I post an award, I feel empowered. Third, do you always put people down like this? If your intention was to create a conversation about why awards could be seen as a popularity contest, you could have emailed me or written anonymously to me or wrote a lengthy comment trying to educate me on the subject. You chose to show up in my blog and try to break my spirit. I don’t know what your intentions are but do know that in my blog, I love peace and light and you are not to take it.

      Love and light

This is so uncalled for. She didn’t say it’s a popularity contest besides, there’s nothing wrong with receiving numerous awards. It helps create awareness for blogs as well as encourage bloggers.
