This series hopes to explore issues that women face when it comes to insecurities about their bodies and societal pressures. (I was going to write just my experience then I realized that that’s just one body type) I hope this style makes sense to y’all. Feel free to go back and read other articles for this series.

Jog

I remember when I was primary school, Fridays afternoons were for exercise and lots of crying. The teacher would make us do strenuous exercise then walk around terrorizing everyone who didn’t do the exercises well. I think I can use this as an excuse why I am not the biggest fan of exercising. Over the years I have started an exercising routine that I skip for a few days then never come back to😂😂😂😂. I hope to get abs one day but I never seem to stay consistent enough. I even take pictures before so that I can have those corny before and after pictures but I never get the after.

I figured that I can’t talk about the body and not talk about exercising. I am no expert but I have been thinking about exercising and my relationship with it. I have wondering if the fact I do it because I want a certain part of my body to look a certain way is healthy. I have been trying to shift my focus from just wanting abs to loving on my body and taking care of it. I try to do affirmations while I exercise though sometimes it’s so hard because I sorta need loud music to get me in the mood for strenuous exercise. I hope one day to learn doing something as peaceful as yoga looks.  I have currently been consistent for the past three weeks and I hope to do for rest of the year. Hopefully It’s part of my achievements in 2021 (Fingers crossed)

Some people exercise because of serotonin but for me, it never works because I am a little obsessed with hitting certain numbers and if it is created then I guess it’s used up immediately. My favorite thing about exercising is the feeling after taking a shower, I feel fresh and accomplished. I start the day with the feeling that I have done a lot with my life for the day. I think I am also proud of the fact that I have kept a promise to myself.

    I was introducing to exercising and working out in 2015 as I tried to lose my pot belly and hopefully get the girl I was interested in them. I never got the girl, but I have fallen in love with working out.

    I I am not very disciplined at religiously following the workout plan, but I always remember to get back once people talk about my belly appearing.

    I am doing Insanity Max 30 and have been doing it since mid last year. Working out helps me start my day well and have the time to clear my head. Working out especially jogging teaches me a lot about perseverance and pain.

    To be consistent, choose a routine that fits within your schedule otherwise you will struggle with it.
    You should also enjoy the exercise or you can’t do it for long.

    I personally don’t like exercise but I somehow convince myself to stick with it for a good amount of time 😂
    I have discovered that wearing cute workout sets makes the whole thing more pleasant.

    Yaayy to 3 weeks! I’m equally on a fitness journey too. I’m hoping I eventually become one of those who feels bad when they haven’t worked out 😂 All the best!
