The Restaurant

Hello Wild Ones 💎 💎 💎 ,

I hope you are well and doing great. My hope is that you are taking really good care of yourself. I am currently full of hope and love.

The Restaurant

Jemima sits at the bench outside the restaurant, staring at the door, wondering how she was going to walk in. She recounted how many times she had been in the restaurant ever since she got the pass to be a member. They were countless and very easy. All she did was wake up and walk in, see, very simple. She bites her nails and brings her hand closer to her chest as if to make herself smaller. Her hands start shaking, so she hugs herself; maybe just maybe, she will feel better. “These kinds of restaurants, you don’t just walk in; you prepare yourself thoroughly and do little practices for everything that you are going to do in there before you do,” her mother’s words kept bouncing around in her head. If only she had listened to her mother. Her most recent walk-in into the restaurant was the reason she was in this position in the first place. She had that particular walk-in so many times, but for some reason, this last time had caused a lot of chaos and drama in life. She wished she could go back and change everything, but we all that once your order and start eating your order, you really can’t change your mind. Her mother had spent years teaching her how to look at the menu and how to doublecheck the order every time she did it. It had been a lesson that she had taken for eighteen years, so how could she have messed up this time? Well, this question is easy; she had done the same kind of order so many times without anything going wrong that she thought that nothing could ever go wrong. It’s a typical case of what they say about familiarity. Strange how familiarity had now brought her face to face with adversity and fear.
Where would she run? How would she tell her mother she had messed up? Time is running out; the restaurant doesn’t wait for anyone. She needs to stand up and go in there. With her legs shaking, her throat dry, heart beating fast, and so many thoughts dancing around her mind; she walks each step heavier than the previous one towards the restaurant. This is not just any restaurant, it’s the restaurant of life, the menu is life choices, and you eat what you choose. Jemima stares at the menu, and she doesn’t know, ” Will she keep it or abort it?”
