Taking Care of your Mental Health
Hello Wild Ones, (Let’s share how to look after your mental health)
I hope you are well. May you always know how precious you are. Today we will be looking into ways in which one can take care of their mental health. But first….
Today’s Commercial Break
1. Resting to look after your mental health
Sometimes it is very easy to keep the hamster wheel turning as you go after your goals. For some, they also feel really guilty to rest. To keep your mental health good, it is important that you take a good night sleep and rest daily. Learn to be okay with rest. You don’t deserve rest, you need it.
2. Good Vibes
It is said that it is bad spiritual hygiene to give everyone access to you. You owe it to yourself to alway listen to yourself and take care of your mental health. Exit situations that make you feel less or take away your joy. It is okay to cut off people whose vibe take away from you. Sometimes these people are not bad, you two just don’t rhyme and that’s okay.
3. Positive Self Talk and Affirmations
You are always with yourself so what you say to yourself matters. It is recommended that you speak to yourself as you would talk to someone you love. You could also whisper positive affirmations to improve your mental health when you feel less.
4. Move your body
You could exercise, dance, or walk. Moving your body helps the body to create chemicals that make you happy. Many people accredit exercise to improve their mood and consequently their mental health.
5. Gratitude
Practicing gratitude allows you to focus on the good things happening in your life. It brings sunshine to you to appreciate all that you have. It can be really hard in the beginning but once it’s a learned practice you will have so much joy. You can start by just writing five things you are grateful for daily.
6. Connection
Love is said to conquer all and I couldn’t agree more. Having people that could support through thick and thin does wonders to your mental health. Having your tribe allows to have spaces where you can vent when you are stressed without fear of judgement.
7. Control
Understanding what you can’t control and what you can is important for your mental health. This understanding will give you peace in working on what you can change and accepting what you can’t. Stressing over things that you can’t change only breaks you down for no reason.
